Berly:

Welcome to denim wrapped nightmares tipsy exchange Podcast where we explore the supernatural series episode by episode.

LA:

over drinks, we'll discuss the lore of gore and what we adore about the Winchesters and their adventures.

Berly:

I'm burly, and I'm a new fan of the series. I'm

LA:

LA, and I'm here along for the ride. Now let's get tipsy.

Berly:

Lm la I love early. On our last episode changing channels, we had the return of the trickster, portrayed by the fabulous Richard Speight, Jr. The Trickster throws Sam and Dean into an alternate universe, where they are characters in different television series, including a sexy medical show, a Japanese game show, a forensic show and a sitcom. By the way, I did get verification that the CGI heart thing is from like the CSI show stuff.

LA:

Oh my god, it Yeah. When you heard me listen to it. I was like CSI or CSU. I was like, What the fuck is CSU?

Berly:

I know it was like talking about I haven't I assumed, I don't know. Maybe there is a CSU. No, there's not.

LA:

No I just made,

Berly:

maybe there will be enough. So the brothers realize the only way to get out of TV Land is to play their roles and become the characters in the show. However, Castiel appears and warns them this universe is dangerous. It's not a trickster, and they must get out before they become trapped forever.

LA:

It was a good one.

Berly:

It was a very good one. And I have to say, we've been told there's two tricks or episodes this season. So I completely expected that this was going to be a two parter. Well, yeah, you would think and that we were gonna get the second trickster episode today. But that was not the case. Well,

LA:

I thought because this one's called The Real Ghostbusters. I had a slight excitement that we might see the Ghost Chasers.

Berly:

You wanted your boys are gonna stay survives. Yeah, no, that's okay. So we both got a little disappointment today. But Thank fuck for Chuck.

LA:

But yeah, so this one today is The Real Ghostbusters. It is the ninth episode of season five and aired on November 12 2009. The episode starts in a frenzy. The guys are in the like racing to this hotel. Pineview hotel, I think it was called. And they're like, jumping out like I mean, some urgent shit that they need to attend to. I guess. Chuck is standing out front.

Berly:

Pacing. Yeah, he looked all nervous.

LA:

Becky shows up. And Chuck's confused why they're there. And they're I think it was Sam said, you know, you send us a text like urgent text. Chuck's like No, no, didn't. didn't do that. But then Becky comes running out and always excited to see Sam. And she he asks her if she borrowed his phone. And she's like, Yeah, I borrowed it from your pants. I was like, wow. And so it was Becky that told them to come. Some guy comes out and motions to check. Like it's time you know, you need to come in. And Chuck just like looks at the guys and is like I'm just really sorry. Yeah, everything, everything. So they go inside and Chuck goes up on the stage. Well, actually, when they first came in, we see people from past episode dressed up like things from the past episodes. Yeah.

Berly:

I loved it. When the Scarecrow came out Sam actually like jumped like he was scared. It's like, you've come across real monsters and real ghosts. But this guy in the costume startled you.

LA:

So they're real confused until they get into the room where Chuck is talking. Becky explained. To them. It's a supernatural convention died laughing. I like the guy who motioned to chuck to come in he starts listing off the schedule. There was a homoerotic subtext group. So that was gonna happen. And then the big hunt later,

Berly:

Dean's face when he said the HOMO erotic subtext of super doubt. Like what? I was thinking

LA:

I would be in that one. I'd want to go talk

Berly:

about that panel.

LA:

They do introduce Chuck is Carver Edlin, and he starts taking questions. And Becky is like a regulator. One on One guys up there like criticizing something in the book serves the story, and she just stomps her way up. And she's like, What did she say? You

Berly:

don't like the books? Don't read them? Yeah. And he

LA:

goes down. He

Berly:

was saying, Why are they always getting their weapons thrown out of their hands? Why don't they have them bungeed or something? And later on in the episode, that exact scenario happens. And then dean is like, maybe he was right. Maybe we'd figure out how to Bungie them to us or something. He's onto something.

LA:

Well, it turns out that Chuck plans to start publishing the looks again. And the guys are not happy about this.

Berly:

Chuck was getting all nervous because he could see them standing at the back of the room and he could see that they are not happy. Yeah.

LA:

But there's a lot of other guys dressed as Sam and Dean that are there and there's these two that kind of their part of the whole episode. Really? Barns and Damian. Yes. And I didn't know their names until the very end obviously. Like just kept putting two dudes the two dudes. Yeah,

Berly:

they only said their names at the end right at the end together. There was like, one time during the episode that Damien said Barnes something something at one time that Barnes you had to be I was waiting for their names as the only reason why I caught it. I was literally like, what are these two guys names? Yeah, I love them from right from the beginning. I'd love to them so I wanted to know what their names were. Okay.

LA:

Well, it's one of the I think it's I forget. I think it's this guy dressed up as dean or something. I

Berly:

can't remember. Damien dressed up as dean. No, no, not

LA:

in a him. I'm talking about the guy who's goes out with his little cardboard EML that he didn't get a name. Okay, well, yeah, I know that. But he was drunk. I couldn't remember what if he was dressed as Sam or Dean.

Berly:

Not that it matters. It doesn't matter. But I will say this. I thought it was hilarious. There were a bunch of people who were dressed like Dean, who had the giant, chunky amulet. Oh, yeah. But Dean doesn't have the amulet? Because Castile still has his amulet. Do you think they all know it gets hot for God? Well, I

LA:

don't know.

Berly:

I bet you they're faking amulets don't get hot for God.

LA:

Yeah, yeah. But yeah, so anyway, well, this guy is going down a hall pretending to there. There's a bunch of LARPing going on. And he's got a cardboard EMF thing. But he's going down the hallway with a lady shows up at the end of the hallway. And she's like an old fashioned clothes, but she's not a ghost. She's actually LARPing with him. He shoots her with a little Nerf gun and says, you know, she's supposed to frickin disappear. But obviously, she didn't. She's a person. She

Berly:

works at the hotel, and I loved how she was a terrible actress. She just was like, I am the creepy Leticia or like, you can tell she did not give a shit.

LA:

And she took off after that. Because, you know, yeah, that's how she disappears.

Berly:

Yeah, I did the fucking lie. And I'm out here.

LA:

Did her part.

Berly:

He shot me in the boob with your Nerf gun

LA:

when he turns around and goes another way. But then there's this little boy at the end of the hallway. Creepy. And I can't remember. What does he say? Did he say something to him?

Berly:

I don't remember. But he he actually did vanish. And so that's when the guy was like, oh, fuck, and like turned around and ran. Right? Yeah. And then he went into that library, where he got swept up by his foot and flung across the room like crazy. He had blood coming out of his ear. And the next time we saw that guy, he was talking to his friend and was just like, we're leaving. I don't I don't care how much you want to be here. I'm out. I'm done. I just got flung across the room by Invisible Children. Yeah, I wouldn't be with him. Right? I wouldn't want to play anymore.

LA:

So Sam and Dean are at the bar they needed to drink after seeing all the silliness and people dressed up, dressed up as them and whatnot, and

Berly:

hearing the books were gonna get published again. Yeah, yeah. happy about that. And they overheard Oh, boy, being like, I'm getting the fuck out of here. Yeah. And went, oh, something's going on.

LA:

But before they go to do any investigating, hang on.

Berly:

You know what they thought? What? They thought there's something strange in the neighborhood. Then they thought, Who are we going to call ourselves? Yep. When there's something strange, and it don't look good. Oh,

LA:

who are we going to call

Berly:

ourselves? Yep.

LA:

But before they go?

Berly:

What? No.

LA:

Oh, I'm sorry.

Berly:

Nothing down. You're gonna be a tough cookie today, huh?

LA:

I think so. I'm

Berly:

gonna get you. We'll see.

LA:

We'll see. The girl that had been playing. Who we find out as Miss Gore is the ghost. She's at the bar and Dean starts hitting on her. She's just like, texting on her phone. So she doesn't even look up at him. But she's like, totally blowing him off, like acting annoyed things he's saying. But then she looks up and chances are two, which I'm like, yeah,

Berly:

yeah. And you know what, this was the first time he was hitting on somebody. And it was giving, like, Joey from Friends vibes, like, kind of a creep, but not really. Yeah, it was a much, much smoother than in the past. Yeah, he wasn't lying about being an agent or lying about this or whatever. Yeah, it was much smoother. Yeah. So whatever. She looked up and started painting and I was like, Hell Yeah, girl. One. I

LA:

feel like the way he was looking at her like he was like, waiting for Look at him. You know, like, like, he was like she She's gonna see she's gonna, she's gonna see in a minute that she's, she's gonna be upset with her. But anyway, so after they heard all this stuff from the guy leaving and whatnot, I think Sam, is it Sam that goes and does a little research, like always. And he finds out that Leticia Gore, it used to be an orphanage, and she ran it, I think in 19 Oh, something. And apparently she killed four boys and then killed herself is the story. They go over, and they're trying to pay off the concierge to give them any more extra information he might know about, you know, the whereabouts of things and whatnot. And he's telling them, there's just parts of this place that are off limits. But he passed, Dean passes more money, and he lets him know, like, it's the attic. The attic is where we don't allow anybody to go. So that's where they go.

Berly:

And while they're doing that, Damien and Barnes noticed that they were talking to this other guy off to the side, not to the guy who's obviously been a part of the convention and works at the hotel, and is talking to everybody else in the group. And so they kind of were like, hang on, these guys are getting some tea. Let's listen. Let's see what's happening over here. So they have a shadow now during the section two, yeah, their phone. Mm hmm.

LA:

As the two guys are following Sam and Dean in another hallway, a little boy shows up to them. And they're asking where where Lutetia was buried? Because that right there, like where are the bones? Yeah, trying to find the bones and the little little boy points at the end of the hallway to this painting that's hanging there. So they go over. There's a little kid bloody handprint on the wall. disturbing. And then they turn over, they take the picture down and turn it over and then the whole back is covered and bloody kid handprints and they open it and find a map. The makeup

Berly:

on these ghost kids was really good in this episode. Yeah, they were extra creepy.

LA:

What was super disturbing the salmon dinner up in the attic and a little boy shows up and he's got his head on his hands over his head and saying like, my mommy loves me.

Berly:

It's terrible. It caught both of us completely off guard. Yeah, I get what it's like nervous laughter

LA:

he's like my mommy loves me. My mommy loves me. And then he's the my mommy loves me this much less his hand hands go and he's been yelled at scalp is missing. Like a thing of blood running down his face. Like it's not fun. I don't know. Weird.

Berly:

I was like, What the fuck?

LA:

It was weird. Yeah. But then to the

Berly:

way the kid delivered it to was just like my mommy loves me this much. And like, moved.

LA:

Oh, but to offset that weirdness, we get another weird moment with Becky. She's sitting with Chuck who Chuck definitely wants Becky. Oh,

Berly:

yeah. He's trying to hit on her the whole episode.

LA:

Because she's all all about Sam. And Sam is over on the phone doing something and She licks her hand and then blows like that to him instead of like a kiss blowing a kiss. Yeah, like a normal. It was weird. Yeah.

Berly:

She like winked at him afterwards. Yeah. And for Chuck is just sitting there being like, awesome. I'm literally sitting here buying your drinks, and you're licking your palm and blowing it to another dude. Yeah.

LA:

Yeah. Well, I guess Sam, whoever Sam was on the phone with told him that one of the boys that she killed was her son, and that he had been scalped. So we know who he is. This little boy from that

Berly:

Dean did not like that. He was real motivated to go find her bones and burn her after that.

LA:

They hear barns and Damien talking about the map. They go over and of course want the map. And of course the boys aren't. The other guys aren't gonna give it to him. So they decide, you know, okay, let's work together. Let's do this.

Berly:

We want that $50 sizzler gift card, split. Bars

LA:

and Amy we're like, okay, that's fine. But we're Sam and Dean. Yeah, not you guys. And so he's calling them Rufus and Bobby, the whole thing. They go around and they do find the grades. And they in their minds, they just need to dig her up her bones up and Burnham and Case Closed. Everybody's safe. The little sweet ghost children can stay wandering about so they do that they dig up her bones which forget which one barns or whatever. Or they're appalled that they're actually doing this they they're like waiting for like a plastic bone to be around because it's like part of the big hunt game that's going on.

Berly:

They were not prepared to actually dig up a grave knew Who knew

LA:

but as Dean's down in the grave, still digging The teacher shows up naughty naughty knocks it Sam over like punches on hate AF out Yeah. And then she starts going for Barnes and Damien's hearts. And like as she's doing as Dean opens the casket assaults or burns or saves them from getting their hearts ripped out or whatever she was trying to do, they would head back to the hotel. And Sam and Dean are like, okay, job's done. Let's go. They go to leave, but they are locked in. Everybody is locked in, no one can leave the windows are shut, sealed doors are sealed to

Berly:

supernatural lockdown. Last time we saw that was in the ghost spacers episode. So I guess this is a common occurrence.

LA:

They hear a scream and it's the lady LARPing as Leticia and she's like, Don't go in there. Of course, they go in there. And it's a little boy and he's he's saying Why did you do that to my mommy? Why'd you do that?

Berly:

It's the same little boy who was like, Look how much my right. Me. Yeah.

LA:

And he's like, my Mommy didn't do this to me. And they're like, Yeah, I mean, the other little boys show up. Or no one boy shows up and keep saying that. Miss score wouldn't let them have any fun. Poor things.

Berly:

Apparently fun means scalping people. Yeah, cuz

LA:

the Who Who was the guy that they lay scalp in the hallway. What was he dressed as?

Berly:

Oak man?

LA:

That's right. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, the hook man from the beginning, when he was asking chuck some questions in the hallway. And they're telling him that, you know, Miss score won't let them have any fun. So then they have fun by scalping him and killing him. So I guess they stabbed him too. Yeah, that must have because, you know, he's, he's dead. But we don't see any other wounds. Besides that.

Berly:

They were like noises though. Oh, made anything I didn't see that. I didn't hear that. Made me think that maybe there was some Stabby stabby happen something? Yeah.

LA:

Well, Sam and Dean try to they like get everybody into this. All room whatever the room is that they were doing the main panels.

Berly:

Yeah.

LA:

They tell chuck that he needs to stall and keep everybody in this room until they can figure out what they need to do. Well, they know what they need to do, but they can't go to the bones to burn them. So Chuck begins to start just like randomly saying stuff about his life to keep everybody in there, which I'm like, I don't know if that was a great idea. But he's doing is he's trying he's really trying to keep everybody in there. The boys had assaulted the room so you know they they're all safe in there while they go do do their shit. And of course, Barnes Damian want to help. Which turns out to be a good thing. Yes. They enlist the fake Leticia. The LARPing Fatima, Leticia.

Berly:

But Tisha I like it for the fake. Let's see shall Yeah. Teesha. Felicia?

LA:

Yeah, they want her to make them open the doors since they were, you know, are supposed to list her son. She's in charge of the orphanage or whatever. And they show up. She does call them he. She's terrified. She is scolding them. She's telling them to open the doors. I was real confused at first because I couldn't tell what they were doing with the doors. Sam

Berly:

Dean Sam Dean Barnes. Yeah. Dean. Dean was with the Fateh shop. Yeah, Sam, Damien and Barnes at the doors. Yeah, yeah. And

LA:

I've like I thought, like, are they holding the doors? From someone getting in or like I was really confused at this moment. I don't know why. As she scolding the boys that they are able to kind of open the door just a crack to like squeeze Damian out squeeze burns out. And they know that their job is to go find the bones. And do do what Sam and Dean do best.

Berly:

And they knew where the graves were, unfortunately, because when they were in the graveyard earlier, they spotted the boy's graves as well.

LA:

Yes. Well, well. Patricia is scolding the boys. her cellphone goes off, right? Very loud. Obviously the boys know this is not our Miss Gore, Miss Leticia. They look like little. I don't know they're so creepy looking in general. And then they pull out these knives. Yeah, all three of them just ready to go. And that's when Dean who's kind of hiding behind the corner comes in wood.

Berly:

He was like, Don't worry, I got your back sweetheart. I

LA:

was like, oh, oh, me too.

Berly:

If you could have my back any day,

LA:

but as they're the boys are starting to come for her and Dean kind of comes around. We see out in the convention room. The panel room. The concierge has done listening to Chuck's life stories.

Berly:

Oh, yeah. Dean and Sam like escorted everybody from the hotel and there was like, oh, it's gonna be great. Yeah.

LA:

Checked yells at him. He's like, Don't open that door. He opens the door. And of course there's one of the little boys with a knife ready to kill them. But Chuck luckily comes in so I don't know what He swiped when

Berly:

he there was the microphone stand.

LA:

That's iron.

Berly:

I guess so. Apparently. Anyway, it

LA:

takes care of the boy shuts the door and Becky is into it. She is taken aback. Yeah,

Berly:

she was flustered.

LA:

Chuck just needed to take charge. Yeah. And

Berly:

in the meantime, Dean has a fire poker and is saving Felicia, and tells her get out of here. Then Sam comes and helps Dean fight the other two little boys who they're like

LA:

beat him up and then they've got him up there on the ground. Knife, almost a scalp ready to scalp however,

Berly:

Sam and Dean holding the ghost wrists to keep them from scalping them. Oh,

LA:

no, man, you asked me that when we're watching and I can't explain these things for you. I don't know. I mean, I questioned a lot of things.

Berly:

I guess whenever the ghost is trying to kill you they become corporeal where you can like hold them.

LA:

Sounds good to me. Well as as each boy that has Arbalet down on the ground or they're about to scalp them. Damien Barnes save the day and lit up bones and the kids disappear. Duty done job taken care of. Everybody's out front. The cops are there by this point. Are the cops there? Well,

Berly:

I mean, they had a dead body on their hands. Oh, I

LA:

forgot about that. The hook man guy. Yeah. Well, how

Berly:

did they explain that? Who killed them? What was that interview process? difficult time? It was the ghost boys officer. Yeah. Don't worry. They burned their bones. It's fine. Yeah, it's not gonna happen again.

LA:

You can leave you can go now. We took care of it. Anyway, Barnes and Damien are talking with Dean and Dean's a thanking them for helping them and genuinely like just like, Thanks, guys. Like really couldn't literally couldn't have done it without you. Dean starts to walk off and is Damien that stops him. And he's like, you know, I think you're wrong about the books about the supernatural books. I don't think you get what the story's about. And he's like, you know, to be Sam and Dean, these guys who go around and get to be heroes and save the day and have a brother that would die for you. Who wouldn't want that? is what he says.

Berly:

He was tearing up while he was doing all that and it made me tear up. Yeah, it was it was really sweet. He was so good. Yeah.

LA:

Dean ask asks how they met. They tell him that they met in a chat room online. And I think Dean said something about like, must be nice. Get out of your parents basement every once in a while meet some new people, which wasn't very nice team, right? And Damien's like, Oh, we're not. We're more than just friends. And they hold each other. They grab each other's hands. And he tells them that they're partners. And Barnes puts his head on his shoulder. I know. And they're cute little couple. They're adorable. And then we see Becky and Chuck, and they're with Sam. And Becky is really trying to let Sam down easy. You know, she's just like, you know, we what we had was amazing. But I've just been taken by Chuck's

Berly:

her row CISM Yes, yes. And those big blue eyes.

LA:

She's just she can't help herself anymore. Resist anymore. So she's really upset and she's like, worried for Sam and you know, she's like, are you gonna be okay? Sounds real sweet. He like? Yeah. I think I'm fine. I'm just gonna have to find a way to keep keep on living. Yeah. Becky decides to tell Sam since he clearly has not read the books that Bella did not she lied about giving the colt to Lilith. She really gave it to her and who was Crowley?

Berly:

She said Crowley was Lilith right hand, man. Okay, that's what and so I do have a criticism here. Don't you think it's a little harsh Becky to say that she lied. Maybe she thought by giving it to Crowley who was supposedly his right hand man that she was giving it to Lilith? It's not her fault. Crowley didn't pass it on.

LA:

True. Just trust trust to the wrong person. Mm hmm. Fellas

Berly:

done that more than what?

LA:

They the guys have a lead on the cold. Of course. That's where they're gonna be headed. They take off. I thought it was cute that Dean's standing there at the car just like smirking like, happy that he

Berly:

he has a new outlook. Yeah, Damien and Barnes. Like, we're like our lives suck. Your life doesn't suck. We fucking deal with just like electronics and shit all day. You get to save which they didn't know they were talking to the real Dean. Even though Dean did try to tell them. I'm the real deal. And they were still like, oh, okay, buddy. But he got a new kind of outlook on his life. I kind of liked that. He was super giddy there. Oh, yeah. It was really cute.

LA:

But yeah, so then Sam shows up tells him he'll tell him on the way about the situation with Crowley. And it ends but then it comes back for checkout takes it I have him talking about his life. And that was cute. And it shows the guys like doing the

Berly:

finger across the throat. One of them did the hand gun to the forehead. Yeah.

LA:

But yeah, that was kind of cute. And then just see the little out, like, well, it's not really outtakes. But it was funny. It was

Berly:

cute. Yeah. This episode was written by Eric crypkey. And Nancy wiener. This is the only episode by this pairing. And it was directed by James L. Conway, who also directed it's a terrible life and fallen idols. Alright, Gore, the scalping stuff was the only that I can think of. Yeah. Which was cringy. Maybe not. cringy. Just like I didn't like it. I didn't want to look at it. Well, yeah,

LA:

like, well, the first one was just a startling. Yeah. Oh, my God.

Berly:

And then the Hawkman ones was pretty bad, too. They showed they showed them very briefly, but it was enough to just be like, Oh, pretty close up. Yeah. The makeup was phenomenal, though. On the scalping and just the general ghost makeup. I feel like they stepped it up a notch because they had to differentiate between who were actual ghosts and who were pretending to be ghosts for the game. Yeah, because it was good. Those kids were creepy as fuck yeah, they were. Holy shit. Adore What did you adore about this episode LA.

LA:

A lot. I was excited to see check again. Oh my god. He's so fucking cute. And then Becky's a little crazy, but I like her. Yeah,

Berly:

I do too. And then I liked a Barnes. Damian. Yeah, Barnes a Damien are definitely on my doorless. I adored them the entire episode. Like I said, I teared up at the end when they were talking. And just the fact that they were a couple in hindsight made little scenes between them that much cuter. Yeah, like whenever Damien would be like, Barnes, like stay in character. And Barnes would just be like, Oh, I'm sorry. And make his voice all deep, knowing now that that's his boyfriend doing that for him. Not just his friend. I don't know. It just made it

LA:

a little sweeter. Yeah, it was.

Berly:

It was really cute. They were very cute. And I adored. It was a brief scene. But there was somebody who I don't know if she was just a maid or what. But there was a scene where we heard a scream. And everybody goes running upstairs. And Sam and Dean think this is a real thing. And so they go up to this maid, and they're like, what happened? What did you see? And she was like, Oh, I saw a ghost boy. And then more people came up and started asking questions, and she, like, smiled and got really excited. I was like, Okay, everybody, gather around. I loved that actress. I love how she played that little scene at 17 or rolling their eyes to walk away. It was a short scene. It wasn't important to the plot. But fuck, it was cute. I enjoyed that scene, and I enjoyed that actresses little performance. It was good. All right, for lore, I looked into Gore orphanage and I found some information on Google wiki. So Gore orphanage is the subject of a local legend in northern Ohio, which refers to a supposedly haunted ruin, near the city of the million in Lorraine County. The ruin is a building that formerly housed the Swift mansion and later, the Light of Hope orphanage.

LA:

Taylor Swift's mansion?

Berly:

I don't think so. I don't think she has property in Ohio. Probably not, probably not. But anyways, it's the subject of local urban, urban, urban legends whereby the violent deaths of young adults and children are alleged to have occurred. According to the urban legends, supernatural activity has occurred in the building since its closure. Though historians have concluded that Gore orphanage itself never actually existed. The vermillion Chamber of Commerce has confirmed its existence of set orphanage, contradictory information, and discusses both the legend and truth of the orphanage. The legend claims that in the 1800s, a fire was set which killed many children and one woman whose ghosts now haunt the ruins. Historians also have determined that Gore orphanage is the name of a road, not a building. And many unrelated people, places and events simply have combined into a single ghost story.

LA:

Are you confused yet? Slightly.

So now we've got some different categories under the history of gore orphanage. So location aspect, the location that is claimed to be the actual site of gore orphanage is in fact the remains of Swift mansion also called swift hollow, which was built and owned in 1843. 1842 by Joseph Swift, not Taylor core orphanage road is the only location in Vermillion, Ohio, whose name contains the words core orphanage. Originally the road was simply called Gore Road, referring not to blood or tissue, as the ghost story implies, but to a surveyors error in a gore, which is a narrow strip of land along this road. The word orphanage and the roads name actually refers to the Light of Hope orphanage, which is less than one mile away from the suppose Id Gor. Orphanage site. You fall on me?

aspect. So we're moving on to the next subcategory. The printing building of the Light of Hope orphanage burned down during the morning of November 22 1910. But without any injuries will

printing building or as I just I just copied and pasted man macarius Okay. The Wilbur family who occupied swift mansion for a time, engaged in spiritual seances and eventually lost four young children to local dip theory epidemic. The seances and child deaths caused the locations reputation for being haunted. However, the Wilbert children did not die in Swift mansion, or in the Light of Hope orphanage fire. Okay, follow me. Yep. Okay. The aspect of the legend regarding children trapped inside a bill burning building was likely inspired by the Colin wood school fire of 1908, which occurred years after the Swift mansion events and the light of hope orphanage opening and that fire resulted in the deaths of 172 children and a few adults no swift mansion itself burned down on the night of December 6 1923. Though there were no human casualties. You fall on me. This law is the most confusing war I've ever covered my complaint and I covered Tulpas back in season one, like I feel like we could be talking about Wonderland some more and it would be less confusing. All right, so the next subcategory paranormal aspect. The cries of orphans trapped in a fire, which is central to the legend, are claimed to be heard at the ruins of Gorath orphanage which is actually swift mansion. However, investigators attribute the cries to the high pitched hum of truck traffic on the nearby interstate highway, which is not visible from the area of the ruins, the Ohio Turnpike or interstate 80. Bridges the Vermillion River approximately one and a quarter miles from the ruins. When a truck crosses the bridge. winds often carry the brief, high hum to the ruins as a ghostly whale unrecognizable as mechanical and origin. A local activity known as legend tripping, this does not involve acid as you would think it does, involves teenagers testing one another's courage with ghost stories of haunted locations to which they traveled by automobile. As early as 1905. teenagers were visiting the Swift mansion slash squirt orphanage before it developed its current Gor orphanage legend in search of the supernatural due to its reputation for being haunted as a burned down orphanage, which it never was. In later years, the sounds from unseen truck traffic were added to the legend as the ghostly cries of children. And that's what I got.
